LAIYA, BATANGAS
Took a two-hour drive to Laiya, Batangas with my girls last weekend. The weather was really gloomy and the resort felt kind of homey with just a few people checked-in so it was definitely perfect for a weekend getaway. Since it was freezing and also raining, we only swam for a few minutes. Swimming in that kind weather was something I've never done before but I'm really glad I did. The constant shivering and the red nose were worth it. There should always be a first for everything, right?
The cure for anything is salt water-- sweat, tears and the sea
On our way to the resort, we passed by small houses surrounded by trees and mountains and one of my friends explained that she can never live in that kind of environment since it was too quiet for her taste. My other friend added that she's a city girl for life so she can't live in that kind of stillness either. I've always been the type who can live in both worlds. I enjoy the tranquility of a quiet village by the mountains or the ocean and I can also enjoy the excitement of a big ol' city. But if the question was where I would want to live, I'd definitely choose somewhere quiet and serene like a mountain or a beach.
